I made a couple of beach scene cards using several of my favorite Cheery Lynn summer dies. Nothing says summer to me like spending some time in the sun with my toes in the sand at the beach!

For my beach scene, I started out by making the water, sand and frame with the scalloped rectangle stackers.  I added a whimsical sun and cloud, and the palm tree with surf boards and bits of grass from the Surfs Up Set. The cute lil flower on the surf board is cut out from the Doily Companion Oval set. The Beach set has 6 fun pieces in all......the chair, a beach ball, suntan lotion, waves, umbrella and sunglasses.

Here's the same card, but I changed up the colors and sentiment:

Die R Us Shaped Cards

The challenge at Dies R Us to make a shaped card. So fun!

Grab our Badge!

I chose to make an apron can find the template here.  I added some red gingham paper, and black gingham ribbon. Then I dug into my box of brads and found some little tiny pans for the pocket that I thought would look cute.

The row of utensils is from Taylored Expression. I cut one out in red and another in black to give it some depth. Then I tucked a card inside with a little bits grill sitting on some grass, also from Taylored Expression.

Here's a list of the dies I used:

Cheery Lynn Birdcage for The Paper Players

Hi everyone!

Today Claire is hosting a bright and cheerful color challenge at The Paper Players:

I used all Cheery Lynn dies for my card. I started out with some neutral gray for the birdcage, the flower in turquoise, and the leaves in pear.

I played around with my alcohol inks using a red and orange for the bird. It looks more red then orange after it dried though!

The sentiment is from Poppystamps stamped in black called, "Grateful Heart."

Impression Obsession Golf Set

Hi everyone!

This is the card I made for my son's birthday recently. VERY simple and SO EZ, in fact it took just 5 minutes to make!

I was at our local craft store when I saw this stamp set from Impression Obsession. I thought it would be a perfect addition for my sports stamp collection, so in my cart it went. Then I added some fun paper and I have to admit a few other things.....LOL!

The golf ball and tee I already had, it's from Taylored Expression. I stamped and cut and adhered ....and before I knew it, it was done.

I started a new tradition for my kids recently. On their birthday they usually get money and a gift to open. I still do that, but I added a gift basket with some of their favorites. Jalapeno popcorn, Dot's pretzels, couple bottles of Bai, you get the idea!

I have SO much fun picking out the things to go in it! I made his golf themed this year and added golf balls, socks, small sun tan lotion, etc. I found an awesome crate at Marshal Home Goods to use for the basket, that he could use for storage after wards. So this card went along perfectly! He REALLY liked it.

Now I'm going to start getting a gift box together for my daughter. Several years ago I started sending a box to her every summer. At that time my son was in college and I was making him treat boxes quite often. ( for 8 years actually...he is a pharmacist)  I thought she might think it was fun to get one too, and I was right, she loved it:)

I used to work at a gift shop in the summers for many years, and when we would get some fun things in, I would buy a few to stick away for her box. Even though I don't work there anymore, I still carry on the tradition.
And of course, a handmade card will find it's way inside the box!
